Obstacle or Stepping Stone

The blessings of God never cease to amaze me. I live in the beautiful mountains of Montana. Actually, I live right in the foothills of them. I have a panoramic view of them from my kitchen window!

From my amazing vantage I can see the silhouette of what is know as "Tower Rock". This is where the explorers Lewis and Clark had their first encounter with the Rocky Mountains. They climbed the steep, rocky face expecting to see their destination, the Pacific Ocean. Instead they saw mountains on top of mountains as far as the eye can see. They saw nothing but a massive obstacle. I wonder what their initial reaction was.

I wonder if it was anything like my initial reaction to obstacles in my life. If you are here on this site, you know that we talk a lot about health and wellness and how we can overcome. There was a time in my life when the doctors told me that essentially my body was attacking itself. They didn't know why, and they weren't really sure what to do to treat it - OBSTACLE! Have you been there? Rounds of tests with no conclusive evidence or direction to take except for maybe holding symptoms at bay.

In every obstacle in life we face (and health is no different) we find ourselves with a choice. We could turn around and go back to where we came from. We can camp out at the base of the mountain, frustrated and disillusioned. In this place we tend to find coping mechanisms. Because we live with the belief that things will never get better, our only option is to self-medicate or find a way to silence the pain Then there is the third option.

What if our obstacle becomes our stepping stone? What if we allow the mountain in front of us to become the thing that propels us to go on? For those of you who are believers in Jesus, we believe that He is the answer to every problem and the overcomer of every obstacle. As the Bible says in Romans 8:31, "If God is for us, then who can be against us?" If we truly believe this and apply it to our lives, then the pain propels us into His presence to find an answer to the obstacle.

I found in every area of my life, including the obstacles in my health, that when my pain propels me into His presence, I find a solution to every obstacle and the strength to overcome. There's always HOPE! And that word HOPE is what will turn your obstacle into a stepping stone!

I would love to hear testimonies of ways that your obstacles have been turned into stepping stones! Please feel free to comment below.

Also, if you are at the foot of a mountain that is staring you in the face and you are finding it hard to find hope. Please reach out! We need one another as a source of encouragement. And this is the very thing to which God has called me, to help those with obstacles in their health, find hope and encouragement to simply making it a stepping stone!

Praying for you!
